Timezone
W.A.L.T about different time zones around the world and how to calculate time differences.
timezones are diferent in different countries because in new zealand there is only one time zones because its so small
there are lots of little lines on a certain map . its all because of the sun
This entry is not very clear Julian - you needed to clarify the time zone lines and how this makes a difference as you travel.

W.A.LT about that faherenheit is from the imperial measurements and that celsius is from the metrics systemys. When faherenheit is 32 degrese,
its 0 degrese celius. These are 2 diffrent measurments of heat temperture. Some of the courntrys like england,Australia and New Zealand
use the metric system{the new one},and a courntry that uses the impereal measurment is the U.S.A{the old measurement}.To convert fahrenheit
to celisus -32x5divide by 9.That is some of the difrences between celisus and fahrenheit and celisus.
This entry is more clear Julian. You could also have given an example of using the formula.

W.A.L.T use algerbra thinking to solve decimal subtraction problems.
E.g 9.86-7.25 would be, 10.61-8 = 2.61.
I am pleased that you learnt something today in Maths. How do you feel about using this strategy? TC

29 March
W.A.L.T use tempreture as a stradegey to help us add and subtract intergres
E.g +5 - -9=14, because you are - the cold out of the warm which is making it warmer.
Another E.g -4 + +7=+3 because you are adding 7 warm to the cold 7 which makes warm 3.
Julian it is pleasing again to see that you have learnt something today. I would really like to know how you feel about using these strategies. Are they useful?

Today in maths I learnt that there are 8 to10 diffrent problem solving stratergies
e.g trial error, you do an accurate guess and check if its correct and if wrong try again.
How do you see these being used by yourself? I would like one of your goals Julian to be putting more thought into the reflections you put on your learning journal page. This is a reflection of your journey through maths this year and it is vital that you can talk about this.

Today I learnt what a histogram was, it uses continues data.
Data has to be in a set place, you put the countertable on the y axis side.
I am not sure I understand what you are trying to say here Julian. Can you explain this more clearly?

What I found hard today was trying to make a shape that tesalates and that looks good enough to pass.
I need to learn how to use the computer programs more better and a lot faster.

I am quite happy that I got a 3 in my maths olmypiad but i think i could improve my score by reading the questions properly.
Remember that we have been pushing you to use another strategy to check what you have come up with. This will help work out if you are on teh right track or not!
